I have seen the future

EN Since 21 June 2023, Quebecois artist Ève Cadieux has taken over a sphere of the Atomium to present her vision of the universal exhibitions that have left their mark on both North America and Europe. ‘I Have Seen the Future’: a photographic installation, the mirror of an idealized future. The artist’s installation was designed for the Atomium. Instead of simply hanging photographs on the walls, Cadieux wanted to establish a dialogue with the architecture of this setting. The scenography gives pride of place to the marriage of light and the works.

FR Depuis le 21 juin 2023, l’artiste québécoise Ève Cadieux prend possession d’une sphère de l’Atomium pour offrir sa vision des expositions universelles qui ont marqué de leur empreinte tant l’Amérique du Nord que l’Europe. « J’ai vu le futur » : une installation photographique, miroir d’un avenir idéalisé. L’installation de l’artiste est pensée pour l’Atomium. Il ne s’agit pas, pour Cadieux, d’accrocher simplement des photographies aux murs, mais bien de dialoguer avec l’architecture de cet écrin. Le tout dans une scénographie faisant la part belle à l’union de la lumière et des œuvres.

NL Sinds 21 juni 2023 neemt Ève Cadieux, kunstenaar uit Québec, een bol in van het Atomium om haar visie te geven op wereldtentoonstellingen die hun sporen hebben nagelaten in Noord-Amerika en Europa. «Ik heb de toekomst gezien»: een fotografie-installatie, spiegel van een geïdealiseerde toekomst.
